Biography:
Ursula Miguel has worked in the field of maternity care for over 15 years as a nurse, childbirth and parenting educator, breast feeding counselor and most recently as a midwife. Her professional career has included positions in hospitals, a free-standing childbirth center and home birth settings.

Advanced Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery State University of New
York, Health Science Center at Brooklyn (received Award for Academic and
Clinical Excellence during training)
MS in Midwifery State University of New York Health Science
Center at Brooklyn.
Special
interests: all forms of non-pharmacological pain relief for labor, including
hydrotherapy, comfort measures for posterior labor, optimal fetal positioning,
VBAC births. Frequently lecture on midwifery model of care, non-medical pain relief for labor, posterior labor and the doula effect. Referrals to experienced childbirth educators and doulas can be given.
