Billing Associate
Reports To: Business Manager FLSA Status Non-exempt
Department: Corporate Location Lawrenceville
 
Job Purpose: 
  • To prepare and submit insurance claims to all third party payers for all patients who receive care from Delaware Valley OBGYN and Infertility Group, PC medical providers
 
Essential Functions:
  • Posts charges and payments in PerfectCare electronic billing software
  • Corrects claim rejections on a daily basis
  • Pre-certies and verifies new OBs
  • Answers all doctors calls and record to be posted
  • Calls on patient A/R as well as insurance A/R
  • May need to assist in the collection of past due accounts by following up with insurance companies to learn the status of the claims
  • May also submit appeal on denied claims as required
  • Verifies patient’s medical coverage if patient does not have proof of insurance
  • Receives telephone calls, patients and visitors to the billing office
  • Answers the telephone in a friendly, professional and efficient manner within established guidelines
  • Responds knowledgeably to inquires from patients or insurance companies regarding covered charges and billing questions
  • Operates fax machine, copier and all other relevant office equipment
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new clerical staff
  • Makes suggestions for improvement of billing and any other office function
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned
  • Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings
 
Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED
 
Technical Skills:
  • Ability to understand the different types of insurance
  • Typing, computer operation and filing
  • Knowledge and ability to operate office equipment
 
Communication Skills:
  • Superior communication and customer service skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
 
Planning Skills:

Medical Receptionist
Reports To: Front Desk Supervisor FLSA Status Non-exempt
Department: Lawrenceville Location Lawrenceville
 
Job Purpose:
  • To assist in the smooth running of the Practice in general, and the reception area in particular, and to project a positive and friendly image to our patients and other professionals who may contact us either in person or via the telephone.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Greets patients and visitors in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Checks-in patients, verifies and update necessary information
  • Collects and record patient co-payment
  • Posts all charges and monies
  • Ensures availability of patient information by filing and retrieving patients charts
  • Answers telephone, schedules appointments, screens calls and relaies messages to staff and physicians
  • Updates and maintains current information on physicians schedule
  • Prints and distributes physician schedules
  • Maintains work area and waiting room in neat and orderly manner
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes
  • Refers patient problems and complaints to supervisor
  • Performs related work as required
  • Works closely with medical staff to monitor patient flow
  • Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings
 
Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED

 
Technical Skills:
  • Ability to sort and file material correctly by alphabetical system basic math and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions

Medical Assistant
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor FLSA Status Non-exempt
Department: Lawrenceville Location Lawrenceville
 
Job Purpose:
  • To assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician
 
Essential Functions:
  • Greets and escorts patient to exam room; prepares patient for physician’s visit by obtaining initial information, vital signs, and recording information on patient’s chart
  • Assists with exams, tests, and special procedures as directed
  • Inspects, and prepares exam rooms for cleanliness and equipment condition
  • Stocks and maintains room and nurses stations with adequate supplies
  • Provides follow-up care as needed through call backs, reporting on lab tests, and referring complications or problems to physicians
  • Screens, refers, routes and places calls
  • May perform receptionist and/or routine clerical duties such as filling out forms , answering phones, or filing
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited organization
 
Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and  laboratory procedures such as pap smear, urine dip, pregnancy tests
  • Knowledge of laboratory tests and diagnostics
  • Knowledge of patient registration and super bill processes
  • Ability to take vital signs and perform venipuncture and CPR
  • Knowledge of  outside laboratory routine and billing procedures
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of the following pieces of equipment  (oxygen tank, centrifuge, microscope, colposcope, hysteroscope, cryosurgery unit, fetal monitor, Doppler
 
Communication Skills:
